DOMINIC KANZA

" CONGO " marks the debut of DOMINIC
KANZA's solo career as a singer-songwriter. It is characterized by sparkling
lines, circling above lifting, Rhumba flavored beat. Born in Zaire and raised in
England, Dominic's music reflects his multi-cultural exposure. Building on this
experience, he tours performs regulary whith artists such as Zairean pop idol
PAPA
WEMBA and American singer-songwriter PAUL
SIMON. Although CONGO is mosly a soukous record, it nonetheless
blends numerous other cultural Influences to create a sophisticated,
rhythmically-oriented musical hybrid that draws from sources as diverse as west African
drumming and American jazz. CONGO strengthens the notion that music is a
universal language.
